History of Sanjiv Goenka Group
The seed of Goenka family was sown by Hariram Goenka in the year 1900 later the group was grown by Sir Badridas Goenka who was the first chairman of the State Bank of India. Later the family was grown by Keshav Prasad Goenka and Later in the time of Rama Prasad Goenka the family became a corporate group opearting in eastern India. Rama Prasad has two sons naming Harsh Goenka and Sanjiv Goenka, Harsh Goenka taken the business of tyre and construction and Sanjiv Goenka take the business of power and retail.

The company was incorporated in earlier 1900 by P W Fleury & Co. later in 1897 the name was changed to Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation and got registered in London. Firstsource Solutions was founded in the year of 2001 which is onwed by RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group and is headquartered in Mumbai, India. Firstsource started its operations in 2001 as ICICI InfoTech Upstream Ltd, a business process outsourcing organisation wholly owned by ICICI Bank, later in 2006 Its name was changed to Firstsource Solutions Limited. Firstsource made a public issue in the year 2007.
PCBL
PCBL, a part of RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, was set up by Mr. K. P. Goenka in 1960 and started production at Durgapur with a production capacity of 14,000 MT per annum. PCBL is the largest carbon black manufacturer in India and a strong global player with a significant customer base in 45+ countries. In the current time the plants are located in Durgapur(WB), Palej(GJ), Mundra(GJ) and Kochi(Kerala). At the current time its production capacity stands at 603000 MT per annum and it also generates 98 megawatt per hour of green energy.

Haldia Energy Limited is a power generation company which is operating in Haldia area of West Bengal. Its a subsidiary of CESC, HEL operates two 300 MW coal based thermal power plants at Haldia. The units began commercial operation from January 2015 onwards. The company supplies it's power to CESC Limited, the distribution licensee for the city of Kolkata.
Integrated Coal Mining Limited
ICML was formed by CESC to mine coal from the Sarisatolli coal block in Ranigunj, West Bengal, for captive supply of coal to its companies. Its total minable area is over 660 hectares.
Crescent Power Limited
CPL operates a coal washery and a thermal plant near Asansol in West Bengal. The washery cleans the coal mined at the ICML, which is then transported to the power generating plants of CESC. The rejected coal is sent to the adjacent power plant, which produces
environment-friendly power and promotes zero wastage.
CESC Rajesthan
CESC Rajest han is a extension of CESC of Kolkata. To reap the benefits of other states RPG group started power supply operation in Rajesthan State's three districts naming Kota, Bharatpur and Bikaner of Rajasthan. The company supplies electricity through Kota Electricity Distribution Limited (KEDL), Bharatpur Electricity Services Limited (BESL) and Bikaner Electricity Supply Limited (BkESL).

This is the media venture of the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group. Open was launched on 2 April 2009, and was originally available in 12 Indian cities. It has since expanded its reach and is now available across the country as well as globally (through an e-magazine).

In July 2020, RPSG Group acquired an exclusive license for publishing both print and digital formats of Fortune India. Fortune magazine, launched in 1929 in the United States, is one of the top business magazines globally. The Indian franchisee was started in 2010.
